Casa Marin Sauvignon Gris Estero Vineyard

Casa Marin Sauvignon Gris Estero Vineyard

auvignon Gris, also known in French as Fié, is a rare variety that was largely abandoned after phylloxera due to its too low yields, today the variety can still be found in some parts of the Loire and Bordeaux, but it is often blended with Sauvignon Blanc or Semillon. This variety is a pink grape, it has a thick skin that produces wines with more body and is more aromatic than Sauvignon Blanc. María Luz Marin fell in love with this variety when she tasted it in France, and since the first vintage in 2003, Casa Marin’s Sauvignon Gris is the hidden treasure in her portfolio. It is one of those wines with the “WOW-EFFECT” Once you taste the Sauvignon Gris, it will mark you forever. About 50% of this wine is fermented with natural yeasts in fourth-use 500-litre French oak barrels, where it remains for 7 months. The other half of the wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks. This wine is one of the favorites of many chefs and sommeliers around the world and appears on the menus of the best restaurants on the planet.
