It was 1820 when the Distilleria Giovanni Buton was founded in Bologna, from an idea of the Buton family, already producers of Cognac in the French area of Charent. The grape variety chosen for the production of Brandy was immediately Trebbiano Bianco and, after numerous attempts, in 1939 “Vecchia Romagna”, one of our country’s historic distillates, was born, a crucial brand, presented to the public in the unmistakable triangular bottle that still distinguishes it today.
